Pat  Hernas

Librarian, Library Services

Pat Hernas is a Librarian at Mission College. She works at the Information Desk, helping students solve their research problems including locating journal articles in databases and finding books and media in the Mission College Library or on loan from other libraries. Another of Pat's responsibilities is working with faculty to provide individual orientations for an entire class to prepare students for success in research papers assignments. Pat also coordinates collection development activities and purchases of new materials for the library. If you have suggestions for items to add to the Library collection, she would like to hear your ideas. Prior to working at Mission College, Pat worked for several local high technology companies. Before to moving to California, Pat was a school librarian for the Department of Defense Dependents School System and worked in the Philippines, Turkey, and Italy. At Mission since 2005. Pat Hernas is an active participant in college committees at Mission College and is currently the Chair of the Program Review Committee. In the past she has served on the Academic Senate as well as the Governance and Planning Committee.
