Gerry Hoencke, Mathematics

In addition to teaching part-time at Mission College, Gerry has taught at San Mateo College, Ohlone College, DeAnza College, Foothill College, San Jose State University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Chapman University, and for special training assignments at Intel Corporation. Gerry holds lifetime Community College Teaching Credentials in Mathematics and Computer Science. His teaching assignments for the various community colleges and universities have been in the areas of mathematics, computer languages, statistics, and management science.

Gerry works full time for Lockheed-Martin Space Systems Company. His favorite saying is: "Teaching and interacting with students is fun. I teach in the evenings in order to relax after a full day of work."

Education

Gerry performed undergraduate work in mathematics at Stanford through 1973 and completed an M.S. degree in Mathematics at San Jose State University with special emphasis in Analysis and Applied Mathematics.

In his spare time, Gerry enjoys travel and interaction with diverse groups of people. Gerry speaks fluent German. His personal interests are art and writing.
