Transcript Evaluations

Students transferring academic credit to Mission College from other regionally accredited colleges should send their official transcripts to Mission College for evaluation. Once the transcript(s) have been received, students can submit the Request for Transcript Evaluation to the Admissions & Records Office. Inquiries regarding transcript evaluations may be sent to the Admissions & Records Office.

The Transcript Evaluation Service (TES) is available to students who have completed 12 or more units in the West Valley Mission Community College District.  A transcript evaluation provides important information to the student and counselor about how course work completed at other colleges and universities will be applied to the following Mission College educational goals.

Types of evaluations:
  • California State University General Education Certification – CSU GE
  • Intersegmental General Education Transfer Certificate – IGETC Certification
  • Mission College Associate Degree General Education requirements.

Because every evaluation is unique and may require extensive research, the time to complete each evaluation may drastically vary.  TES continually receives large numbers of requests and completion time for an evaluation is 6 to 8 weeks; however, during certain times in the year, it may take 12 to 16 weeks to complete evaluations.  Your patience as you wait for the evaluation is appreciated.

Coursework from independent or out-of-state colleges/universities, or predating available catalogs, my require students to provide course descriptions, syllabi or additional catalog information which may increase completion time for an evaluation.  Students receive a confirmation email once their evaluation is complete.  Students should meet with a counselor, soon after receiving results of their evaluation to complete an accurate Student Education Plan (SEP).

Mission College does not give college credit for courses completed at non-accredited colleges/universities or for upper division coursework. Regionally accredited courses will be evaluated and used to meet degree requirements and to satisfy prerequisites at Mission College.

International Transcript Evaluations

Students who attended college in other countries will need to get their transcripts evaluated by an international evaluation service. Previous students at Mission College have used Academic and Professional International Evaluations, Inc. For more information on APIE visit their website at www.apie.org
