Jessica Leffler, CPh.T

Jessica Leffler has been working with Mission College since 2003. In addition to being the Program Coordinator and an instructor, Jessica currently works in the pharmacy industry as a pharmacy technician at Costco. Jessica, a seasoned technician of 13 years, brings forth her experiences in both inpatient and outpatient settings from San Jose Medical Group, and Valley Medical Centers in Santa Clara. Moreover, Jessica attends yearly educator's conferences and pharmacy conventions for the latest and greatest pharmacy innovations. Jessica's expertise is teaching Intro to Pharmacy Practice, Rx Processing, Pharmacy Calculations and Pharmacy Law, but also teaches other modules with in the program. |

Noori Khadem-Devanneaux B.S, CPh.T

Noori joined the exciting world of pharmacy back in 1998. All though she is primarily an outpatient pharmacy technician she has experience in an array of pharmacy arenas (retail, hospital, psychiatric, training/education, coordination). Noori has been with Mission College since 2003 and is currently co-coordinator of the pharmacy technician program. Noori also holds a position as an instructor and Job Placement/ Externship Coordinator for the program and is involved in outreach to students and the community.
Noori has worked at sites including Longs Drugs, Valley Medical Center, and currently at El Camino Hospital's In-Patient Pharmacy. She received her bachelor's degree in Public Relations with a focus in Health Science from San Jose State University. Noori's teaching strengths include Pharmacy Communications/Customer Service, Professional Development , Pharmacy Terms and Abbreviations, Over-the-Counter Drugs, Professional Development, Outpatient Pharmacy Practice, and her specialty; Inpatient Pharmacy Skills. |

Christina Pereira, B.S, CPh.T

Christina is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a B.A in International Studies. In addition to being a seasoned pharmacy technician for Costco, she has been teaching and assisting in various modules within our pharmacy technician program such as Pharmacy Terms and Abbreviations and OTC Drugs since 2008. Christina brings over 12 years pharmacy experience to the classroom. Christina's most recent accomplishment is her acceptance to pharmacy school. |

Shu-han Chen, Pharm.D
Instructor
Dr. Chen graduated from UOP in Stockton and has had many years experience as a pharmacist. Dr. Chen is primarily a retail pharmacist and has held positions as a pharmacy manger for several years. In addition, Dr. Chen works as a consult pharmacist for an independent specialized pediatric day care service. When not in pharmacy or teaching, Dr. Chen enjoys time with her husband and dog "Reeses". |

James Fink, CPh.T
Instructor
James started pharmacy in 1990 with Longs Drugs. In 1999 he started teaching pharmacy technician classes where he was introduced to pharmacy compounding. Ten years later, in 2000, James started work at Leiter's pharmacy. In addition to working full time at Leiter's James loves teaching his skills to students. James has worked with Kendall/Tyco to implement the ChemoChek training and Certification program.
In 2005 James has also worked with Goodwill Industries to help underprivileged people train as pharmacy technicians. At Mission College James teaches pharmacy compounding and helps students prepare for the PTCB examination. James has received training in Aseptic Compounding Techniques in September 2001, and Compounding Techniques in June 2005, Quality Assurance for Compounders in November 2007, Advanced Aseptic Compounding in November 2007, and Beyond Primary Training in July 2009.
His training helped him write Leiter's Pharmacy's Standard Operating Procedures and implement Leiter's quality control program. James also works as a preceptor/externship liaison with Mission College and Leiter's Pharmacy. |

Bahar Ghahremani, Pharm.D
Instructor
Dr. Ghahremani graduate pharmacy school from UCSF and currently teaching pharmacology, her specially, in our program. Her undergraduate degree was in Mathematics from UCSF. Dr. Ghahremani has Residency experience in Medical Information and Publications with exposure to Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Investigator Initiated Studies, and Medical Education.
Dr. Ghahremani initiated and coordinated an elective in Women's Health Issues through the clinical pharmacy department, under supervision of Ronald Ruggiero Pharm. D. She also coordinated experts from multi disciplines such as medicine and pharmacy to present lectures on the most popular issues in women's health. The class attendance was full at its first year and the elective continues to be popular among UCSF pharmacy school students each year.
Dr. Ghahremani has skills in critical evaluation of medical literature, medical and technical writing. |

Nina M. Hammond CPh.T
Instructor
Nina currently works at Santa Clara Drug, where their primary focus is compounding of medications and pharmaceuticals. Nina has been in pharmacy for 10 years and has worked at the current pharmacy for the past 8 years.
Nina pharmacy experience include; Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Valley Medical Center. Nina has been instructing the morning compounding class at Mission College since 2007.

Tanya Huynh, CPh.T

Tanya started out as a student of the Pharmacy Technician Program herself back in 2003. After completing a successful externship at Walgreens, she was hired directly. Over 5 years later, she is still enjoying her career as a senior pharmacy technician. Early in 2008, Tanya was looking to expand her horizons as a technician. Through resourcefulness and networking, she made her way back to where her journey all started, but this time as faculty. Tanya has taught Pharmacy Communications/Customer Service and Math. She also is an active assistant for several modules throughout the Pharmacy Technician Program. |

Bond Kou, Pharm.D
Instructor
Dr. Kou did his pre-pharmacy work at UCLA, received his B.S. in pharmacy from the Ohio State University and later his doctor of pharmacy from Idaho State University. He began his pharmacy career as an intern pharmacist at Children's Hospital. Upon graduation, he first worked as a staff pharmacist at Payless Drug Store. Then he became an inpatient pharmacist at Kaiser Permanente. After about six months, he transferred to the outpatient pharmacy at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara where he has been the manager since 1993. Dr. Kou has also been an on-call pharmacist with Long's/CVS pharmacies since 2001. In 2005, he began teaching as a pharmacology and law instructor with the pharmacy technician program at Mission College. In addition, Dr. Kou is an adjunct professor for the College of Pharmacy at Touro University and University of Southern Nevada. As an adjunct professor, his primary duties are to teach and train pharmacist externs all aspects of outpatient pharmacies including disease state evaluation, drug-drug interactions, pharmacy therapeutics and patient consultation, etc. Dr. Kou also works at the externship coordinator at Kaiser working as the liaison between Mission College and Kaiser. When Dr. Kou is not at work, he enjoys mountain biking, road cycling, open-water swimming, weight-lifting and spending quality time with his family. |
