EOPS Staff

The EOPS staff consists of six full-time and several part-time academic and classified employees. The office is staffed year-around, with the full compliment of our services being available August through May.

The EOPS Director is responsible for fiscal management, program and policy development, program compliance, staff supervision, and the overall effective operation of EOPS. The director prepares and submits the EOPS Program Plan and Budget to the State Chancellor's Office, which then becomes the guide for program implementation.
 
Rene Mesa Rene Mesa - EOPS/CARE Specialist

The EOPS/CARE Specialist coordinates the CARE program and delivers support services such as the book service, tutorial assistance, and child care service. The EOPS/CARE Specialist also performs outreach activities for the recruitment of disadvantaged students, and assists with the admissions process.

EOPS Counselors determine a student's EOPS eligibility, draft individualized educational plans, and review graduation requirements for AA and AS degrees, certificates, or transfer programs. In addition, Ms. Chau is the editor of the monthly student bulletin: "Keeping Tabs".

EOPS Counselors determine a student's EOPS eligibility, draft individualized educational plans, and review graduation requirements for AA and AS degrees, certificates, or transfer programs. Ms. Tran also coordinates the workshop series offered each semester by EOPS.

The EOPS Student Services Technician assists EOPS eligible students in understanding Financial Aid forms and processes, does the initial review of EOPS applications, monitors students' Financial Aid status, serves as a liaison to the Financial Aid Office, and requests EOPS/CARE awards for eligible students.
 
Xuan Lu Xuan Lu - EOPS Program Assistant

The EOPS Program Assistant acts as the initial contact for students requesting service from the EOPS Office and ensures they obtain the necessary assistance. Monitoring student progress within the program, supervising Student Assistants, tracking the program budget, overseeing special projects, and providing direct assistance to the EOPS Director are some of the primary duties.
