Broadband Enabled HealthCare (Ends 6/30/13)

Grant-funded Free Online CEU Nursing Course

Broadband enabled health care is considered by many to be the next great frontier of American medicine. High-speed transmission capability has generated efficiencies such as faster patient diagnoses, reduced medical errors, and additional control over skyrocketing patient care costs. Successful broadband adoption requires implementation of broadband-dependent applications that add value to health care organizations, businesses and consumers. This requires that clinicians and consumers are broadband technology-literate. Funded by the University of California Davis eHealth Broadband Adoption Project, this self-paced, online course provides six (6) contact hours for California nursing CEUs.

Incivility - Ten Strategies for Minimizing or Managing Student Misbehavior Webinar

Susan Luparell, PhD, ACNS-BC, CNE
May 7, 2012 at 2PM Central Time
1.25 Contact Hours

Incivility is rearing its ugly head more and more in the classroom. Students are becoming more confrontational in the classroom during student-to-teacher or student-to-student interactions. Some students have an air of entitlement and they may become verbally or physically abusive when situational outcomes do not go as they planned. Many nursing instructors must address the issue of incivility in the classroom and they are seeking successful ways to combat it.
