Career Summer Institute in Mental Health

The Career Summer Institute in Mental Health is a program to provide high school students with the opportunity to explore careers in the mental health field. The goals of the institute are:

  • Students will be provided with an enriched week long-learning block that will prepare them with academic knowledge, technical skills and career exploration.
  • Students will benefit from partnerships with the local mental health services organizations.
  • Students will be given a wide variety of experiences in mental health services fields in order for them to make sound career choices.
  • Students will raise personal expectations in terms

IV therapy and Blood Withdrawal Course

This 36 hours course prepares the Licensed Vocational Nurse in IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal. The course content includes 27 hours of theory and 9 hours of clinical experience. Students will have the opportunity to practice techniques in the Health Occupations Skills Lab. Mission College's IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal 36-hour course is approved by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.

Men in Nursing Workshop

The Health Workforce Initiative of the California Community Colleges' Economic and Workforce Development Program would like to announce a workshop for Men in Nursing. This one day workshop will feature Brent MacWilliams.

Scheduled for May 2, 2014 from 8:30am to 3pm

  • Location: Mission College HM 114 A & B
  • Registration Fee: $25 or $10 student with valid ID
