Coach Cafferata begins his 4th season as the head coach at Mission College. In the three seasons Coach Cafferata has guided Mission Basketball to more wins than the previous five seasons, He guided the Saints to their first conference win in five seasons, and back to back playoffs. Mission basketball has been the most improve program in the state in his first two seasons. Last season Coach Cafferata guided Mission to 17 wins and the programs first ever playoff victory. Mission basketball has led the conference in scoring the past two seasons.
Coach Cafferata previously spent six seasons at Westmoor High School in Daly City winning four league championships with a Peninsula Athletic League record of 49 straight league wins.
As a Basketball player, Corey is the only player to be inducted to the city of Pacifica's Hall of Fame. Corey is Oceana High School's all time leading scorer, in three varsity seasons with 1,303 points. He would later play basketball at Sacramento City College and New College of California where he was named the Big PAC Player of the Year, and finished his college career at Florida International University. He also played professional basketball in Canada and Mexico and with Athletes in Action. Corey has a Master of Arts Degree in Sports Psychology. Corey has one daughter named Dezzirae.
