Corey Cafferata begins his 6th season as Head Coach of the Mission Saints Basketball Program. Corey has led the Lady Saints to an 83-60 in his six seasons, which include 3 playoff appearances. In the 2013-14 season the Saints were undefeated Conference Champions. The Mission College basketball program began competition in the fall of 1998; Coach Cafferata has established the Mission Lady Saints as a conference contender in each of his 6 seasons. In addition, Corey Cafferata’s teams have consistently ranked at the top of the State in scoring average. Coach Cafferata earned Coast Conference “Coach of the year” honors following the 2013-14 season.

Coach Cafferata previously spent six seasons at Westmoor High School in Daly City leading his program to four league championships with a Peninsula Athletic League record of 49 straight league wins.

As a Basketball player, Corey is the only player to be inducted to the City of Pacifica's “Hall of Fame”. Corey is Oceana High School's all time leading scorer, with 1,303 points. Corey would later play basketball at Sacramento City College and New College of California where he was named the Big PAC Player of the Year; Corey finished his college career at Florida International University. He also played Professional Basketball in Canada and Mexico. Corey finished his playing career with Athletes in Action.

Coach Cafferata has a Master of Arts Degree in Sports Psychology. Corey has one daughter named Dezzirae.

 

Coach Gabrielle Ludwig

Coach, Women's Basketball Program

Coach Gabrielle Ludwig grew up in Long Island New York. There she lettered in several High School sport programs including basketball where she was named All-Conference and an All-Star High School basketball player. She later joined the United Sates Navy where she served for 8 years and is a decorated Desert Storm Veteran. Upon leaving the United States Navy she became a parent and started her career as a Scientist for Roche Pharmaceuticals where she has worked since 1999. Gabrielle Ludwig would later return to basketball as a student athlete and played two seasons for Mission College. In the 2012-2013 seasons, Gabrielle helped Mission College win the League Championship title and in the 2013-2014 season Gabrielle was voted First Team All-Conference player where she averaged 18 points per game and 20 rebounds per game. Gabrielle brings with her years of experience coaching and facilitating AAU basketball. Her coaching philosophy includes high tempo, focus on fundamentals and tactics of the sport.
