Registration
If you arent sure what major you want to focus on, we suggest you
begin with General
Education course requirements. Here are some steps that can make choosing
classes easier.
- Write down on a weekly time chart the days and times you have available
for classes. Sample Chart.
- Decide how many classes you can take this semester. If you are working
full-time, we recommend no more than 2 or 3 classes, as you need to
allow time for study and assignments. Students who plan to take over
18 units in a semester need to see a counselor.
- Check the Schedule of Classes for classes offered at times you have
available. Be sure to check weekend, on-line and TV-based classes. These
can help busy people use their available time for study.
a. Every class listing tells you the number and title of the class,
a brief description of what the class is about, any prerequisites, co-requisites,
or recommended advisories, the 5-digit section number, day and time
of the class, the instructor, classroom location, and number of units.
b. On-line classes and Telecourses require students to attend a special
class orientation. The date, time and location for this is listed in
the Schedule of Classes.
- Write your choices down on your weekly schedule to be sure they dont
conflict. Heres a tip: since some of your choices may not be available,
have some alternative classes as a back up.
- You have several ways to register for the classes you have chosen:
T-Reg (telephone), MyWebServices
(on-line), and In-Person. Click on the
appropriate link for step-by step directions.
- Remember, contact a counselor (408-855-5030) for an appointment
to make an Educational Plan to help you reach your goals more efficiently.
