Mus*039A, B, C, D  Advanced Piano Masterclass, Mondays 7 – 9:05pm – Joseph Ordaz, Instructor

The Mission College Advanced Piano Program includes weekly classes in a masterclass setting, taught by Joseph Ordaz each fall and springsemester. Students are comprised of college music majors, college non-music majors, and adult amateurs from the community. 

Guest artists and masterclass teachers have included Olga Kern, Seymor Lipkin, Alfred Kanwischer, Hans Boepple, and Igor Resnianski.

Each fall semester, students are free to choose any music from the standard piano repertoire, while in the spring the students focus on a particular composer or period of music.  Past topics have included the music of Mozart, Bach, Chopin, late-Romantic period, French composers, and upcoming this spring 2008 semester will be the music of Beethoven.  Each semester always concludes with a full recital by the students in the class which have become a regular featured event at the college since 2000.
