
Mission College has a designated Emergency Management Response Team (EMRT). In a crisis event, the Emergency Management Response Team will convene to gather information on the situation at hand, manage the crisis, and notify the public. Current emergency communication protocols include first responder group notifications via Nextel, postings on the Mission College website and on the college hotline at 408.988.2200, and radio and television announcements.
The mission of the Office of Emergency Management is to provide a safe and secure learning and working environment for our campus community. The Acting Director, Kim Aufhauser has been involved in emergency response operations since 1975 including field operations, plans, logistics and incident command. He has been a Park Medic for over 10 years and an Emergency Medical Technician since 1977. He is a task force member of the Disaster Resistance California Community Colleges.
