
Mission College has a designated Emergency Management Response Team (EMRT). In a crisis event, the Emergency Management Response Team will convene to gather information on the situation at hand, manage the crisis, and notify the public. Current emergency communication protocols include first responder group notifications via Nextel, postings on the Mission College website and on the college hotline at 408.988.2200, and radio and television announcements.
The mission of the Office of Emergency Management is to provide a safe and secure learning and working environment for our campus community. The Director, Frank Ramos, has received National Incident Management System (NIMS) training offered by the Department of Homeland Security and has been trained in basic incident command. He has 30 years of Fire Service experience, is a certified California State Fire Marshal’s Office Chief Officer, Company Officer, and has received training as a Hazardous Materials Incident Commander from the University of Nevada, Reno.
