Citing Sources Web Research Guide

In late 2009, The Modern Language Association (MLA) and the American Psychological Association (APA) released new editions of their style guides. For MLA it is the 7th edition and for APA it is the 6th edition. The resources listed on this page may not conform to the new guidelines. You will need to read the information carefully to determine if the resource has been updated.

Resources that include both MLA and APA Styles:
  • Duke University: Citing Sources (http://library.duke.edu/research/guides/citing) - An excellent resource with many examples.
  • Research and Documentation Online by Diana Hacker (http://www.dianahacker.com/resdoc) - Also includes sample papers.
  • San Francisco University: Citing Images (http://www.lib.sfu.ca/researchhelp/publicationtypes/images.htm#citing) - A guide to citing images you find on the Web.
