CHAIR OF THE MC
ACCREDITATION COMMITTEE
The Mission
College Academic Senate is seeking a faculty member to serve as Chair of the
Mission College Accreditation Committee.
The Chair of this committee will work with the Vice President of
Instruction to produce the College's mid-term report and self-study. S/he will be responsible for providing
leadership and coordination for one accreditation cycle, beginning Spring 2004
and ending in Fall 2007. This
position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, especially
the ability to compile, revise, write, and edit a self-study of approximately
200 pages.
The duties of
the Chair include:
* Chairing the college Accreditation
Committee
* Attending accreditation training
sessions and workshops
* Drafting the mid-term report (due Fall
2004) and seeking approval through the college's shared
governance process
* Serving on related college and district
committees, such as the District Accreditation Steering
Committee
* Coordinating the activities of standard
chairs and their committees
* Ensuring that accreditation deadlines
are met
* Updating the college on a regular basis
re: accreditation progress and issues
* Establishing written guidelines for the
self-study
* Editing the reports of standards
committees
* Drafting the self-study
* Coordinating the self-study content and
format with WVC and the District, as necessary
* Preparing for the site visit
The Chair will
be compensated as follows:
