COLLEGE ACADEMIC SENATE
The Mission
College Academic Senate is seeking nominations for the Innovative Excellence in
Teaching, Learning, and Technology Award to be presented at the 14th Annual International
Conference on College Teaching and Learning, April 1-5, 2003, in Jacksonville,
Florida.
The nominee
must be a full-time member of the teaching faculty who has contributed in
highly creative ways to the learning process through uses of innovative
learning strategies, technology or other means, and has been identified through
an institution-wide search. The
nominee must attend the conference and deliver a paper or poster session at the
conference concerning his/her work.
Expenses will be covered.
Each candidate
must submit the following to the MC Academic Senate via e-mail at the above
address by Noon, Thursday, November 14, 2002:
1. a biographical sketch (maximum of 65 words), and
2. a summary of contributions describing
the creative contributions of the candidate which led to this nomination,
including field, courses, and the effects on student learning (maximum of 65
words).

The Mission
College Academic Senate has the option of also submitting the candidate
selected for the above award for
the Ernest L. Boyer International Award for Excellence in Teaching,
Learning and Technology. The Boyer award recognizes exceptional faculty
achievements in enhancing the learning process, and it will also be presented
at the Florida conference. The
recipient will be presented with an award of $5,000 funded by WebCT.
If a candidate
is to be forwarded for this award by the Senate, additional paperwork will be
required. The candidate must
submit a resume along with a narrative (not to exceed five double-spaced pages)
to the Senate addressing the following topics: (PLEASE NOTE:
Do not submit this paperwork until notified by the Academic Senate.)
a) Method of Selection by the Sponsoring
Institution (This portion will be completed by the Academic Senate)
b) Direct Effects on Learning
c) Direct Effects on Motivation
d) Direct Effects on Creativity
e) Spread of Effect
