IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE
MISSION COLLEGE ACADEMIC SENATE
The Mission College Academic Senate, in conjunction with the
Mission College Administration, established an annual Faculty Recognition
Program. This year, five (5)
faculty members will be selected by the Academic Senate and the Administration
to be honored for five separate
awards:
1. Publication
or Presentation Excellence
Criteria: Published Books, Articles, Editorial Responsibilities, Conference Presentations, and/or Professional Presentations or Performances
2. Service
to the College Excellence
Criteria:
Activities in Committees, Leadership Positions, Other Service
3. Service
to the Community Excellence
Criteria: Activities in Community Organizations,
Leadership Positions,
Community Awards/Recognition, Other service
4. Teaching
Excellence
Criteria:
Characteristics that make nominee an excellent teacher - consider
curriculum development, innovation in the classroom, retention strategies,
success of form students, ability to work with students, etc.
5. Associate
Faculty Teaching Excellence
Criteria:
Characteristics that make nominee an excellent teacher (same as Teaching
Excellence Criteria), as well as participation in college and/or community
activities.
The Academic Senate is seeking candidates for these
honors. Individual faculty members
may submit their own name for consideration, or faculty members may nominate a
colleague. Please submit your
nominations, using the enclosed nomination form to the Mission College Academic
Senate Office, Room S1-101, Mailstop #12, by 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002.
The nominee will then be e-mailed the appropriate one page
form which is to be completed and returned to the Mission College Academic
Senate Office, no later than Noon, Monday, April 1, 2002. Honorees will be selected by a
committee comprised of three administrators and three Senators. The recipients will be announced at the Academic Senate/
Administration luncheon, scheduled for May 9, 2002.
