IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MC ACADEMIC SENATE

The Mission College Academic Senate is soliciting candidates for President of the Academic Senate for the 2006-07 academic year.  The term begins June 1, 2006 and ends on May 31, 2007.  A stipend for summer work is allocated for the Senate President.  Any person wishing to run for President must be a current or past member of the Academic Senate.  If the elected President is serving as a Senator, that division will elect another representative.  The eligibility requirements are stated in the Mission College Academic Senate's Constitution and By-Laws as follows:

                        The President of the College Senate shall be elected from
                        those full-time faculty members who are past or present
                        Senators at Mission College, and who are willing to serve
                        in this capacity, by a vote of a simple majority of all full-
                        time Mission College faculty members who vote.  The
                        Academic Senate President shall be responsible for this
                        election.           

A copy of the President's role and responsibility is available from the Academic Senate Office.

If you wish to run for the office of Mission College Academic Senate President, please submit your name and a paragraph of 200 words or less to the Mission College Academic Senate by NOON , MONDAY, APRIL 3, 2006, either by e-mail or hard copy.  The election will be held in April.
