IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT ACADEMIC SENATE REGARDING FACULTY PARTICIPATION ON HIRING COMMITTEES:

At today's District Academic Senate meeting, the Senators voted to accept the following recommendation from the District Academic Senate's Resolution Implementation Task Force:

"that the District Academic Senate reinstate faculty participation in faculty and staff hiring processes as a response to the administration's agreement to engage in advisory assistance mediation with the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges and the Community College League of California."

This means the District Academic Senate has lifted the suspension of faculty participation on hiring committees.  The suspension of faculty participation on all other college and district committees remains in effect.  The District Academic Senate will continue to demonstrate good faith as progress continues.
