Additional Scholarship Information

What Are Scholarships?

Scholarships are a form of gift-based (free) money that does not require repayment. They may be merit based or need based or sometimes both. They are designed to recognize your accomplishments and to provide tangible encouragement to students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, community service, and financial need. You are unique in all that you do and a scholarship is a great opportunity to tell someone about it. Consider this: if you spend 2 hours of your time working on the application for a $2000 scholarship and win it-your invested time translates to $1000 an hour.

It is important to take advantage of all the resources available to you. We encourage you to apply for additional financial aid available.

Eligibility may vary based on fields of study, community and/or college involvement, and/or financial need. All continuing Mission College students and new students, including graduating high school students, and transferring students may apply.

Mission First Scholarship Program

We are proud to serve our local community and work tirelessly to remove barriers that prevent students from continuing their education. While community college is often a much more affordable option than others, we recognize many of our students are still in need of financial assistance.

One of the scholarships we offer for graduating high school seniors is the Mission First Scholarship which provides eligible students $1,000 for their first year at Mission College on top of any other financial aid they qualify for! Please see below for more information about the Mission First Scholarship Program and requirements.
