Student Health Services

Mission College Student Health Services promotes student success and the wellbeing of the whole student: physically, mentally and socially. Student Health Services strives to provide high quality clinical services and health education that’s accessible to our Mission College Community (all basic services are available to all matriculated students). Clinical services are built around a skilled, integrated professional team consisting of a board-certified physician, registered nurses, and Mental Health Specialist.

An informative and interactive web-based resource is offered thru "Student Health 101" - an e-health magazine subscription free to anyone who logs in.

All students are covered by an on-campus accident insurance. Students are advised to notify our office within 24 hours of a campus-incurred accident.

Mental Health Resources:

The Behavioral Health Services is located in room SEC-104, (across from Welcome Center), 1-408-855-5140.  A Mental Health Specialist provides crisis intervention counseling.   These sessions are confidential, one hour long and are limited to 5 - 7 sessions/per semester.  Hours are available each week, by appointment.   Since appointments are limited, we do ask for a 24 - 48 hour advance notice, if the student needs to cancel their appointment.  There is no charge for this service.  Examples of reasons why students seek personal counseling are relationship conflicts, loss, feeling bad about oneself, depression, anxiety, cultural and ethnic identity, and various adjustment issues.

Service Area Outcomes

SAO1: The Mission College Student Health Services will provide clinical services consisting of immunizations, tuberculosis skin tests and laboratory tests to students each year.
SAO 2: The Mission Student Health Services will provide the "Student Health 101" website - an online health and wellness magazine - to a combined audience of student and employees.
