WIA (Workforce Investment Act) Program
The WIA program at Mission College provides services to adults seeking job training and to dislocated workers who qualify for WIA state-funded certificate programs offered at Mission College.

- Nurse Assistant
- Home Health Aide
- Acute Care Nurse Assistant
- Fundamental Food Service Skills
- Food Service and Restaurant Management
- Vocational Nursing
- Pharmacy Technician
Services Provided
- Educational and vocational counseling
- Priority registration
- Book vouchers (if accepted into the WIA Program)
- On-campus and community referrals
Program Eligibility
Adults (18 years and older) who meet the following criteria:
- Laid off from a job
- Receiving unemployment
- Have a barrier to returning to their previous occupation or industry because of inadequate skills or limited availability of jobs
- Job seekers meeting the requirements established by a local Workforce Investment Board
How To Access Services
Contact your local Workforce Investment Board (WIB) to determine whether you qualify for WIA funds. If eligible, you will be referred to a training program.
