WIA (Workforce Investment Act) Program

The WIA program at Mission College provides services to adults seeking job training and to dislocated workers who qualify for WIA state-funded certificate programs offered at Mission College.

  • Acute Care Nurse Assistant
  • Fundamental Food Service Skills
  • Food Service and Restaurant Management
  • Vocational Nursing
  • Pharmacy Technician
Services Provided
  • Educational and vocational counseling
  • Priority registration
  • Book vouchers (if accepted into the WIA Program)
  • On-campus and community referrals
Program Eligibility

Adults (18 years and older) who meet the following criteria:

  • Laid off from a job
  • Receiving unemployment
  • Have a barrier to returning to their previous occupation or industry because of inadequate skills or limited availability of jobs
  • Job seekers meeting the requirements established by a local Workforce Investment Board
How To Access Services

Contact your local Workforce Investment Board (WIB) to determine whether you qualify for WIA funds. If eligible, you will be referred to a training program.
